The purpose of this document is to provide sets of an analytical and systematic process for installation of carpet on the [Mention Location/Areas] such as the hallway, lobby and public areas. The method statement file is free from spelling and grammar errors and no need to check for that. The following is some highlights of the method statement that will enable you to know the purpose, scope and format of the document.
Check the flatness of concrete floors. Swelling and ponding should be removed appropriately and rectify first prior to installing the carpet. Particularly, the side to wall termination.
Clean the entire installation area. Where the carpet is being installed, it should be dust and water-free.
Install the tackless strip on the concrete floor. During the installing of the carpet in the required areas/rooms/offices, leave a gap of about 1-2 inches between the strips and the wall, and be sure the tacks face (Sometimes called tackless strips) towards the wall. At the corners, make sure the tackless strips are butted securely and firmly against each other.
Put the underpaid down in strips that butt up to or reach the tackless strips. Butt the strips of the carpet against each other- don’t overlap them – then staple the underlay down along the inside edge of the tackless strip.
Trim the excess underlay along the inside of the tackless strip and use duct tape to seal the seams. A small pea of glue can be applied on concrete floors to hold the pad in place firmly and strongly.
