Method Statement for Erection of Pipes

Description

Erection of Pipes:

1. Ensure that all tools needed for Erection are ready.
2. Determine the position of the pipe supports as per pedestal location. Pipework shall be installed following the piping general arrangement and their supporting approved shop drawings and specifications.
3. Drill holes in the pedestals using a portable electric drilling machine ensuring that the correct drill bit size is used.
4. Fix supports in position using anchor bolts and ensure all fixing are tight and secure.
5. All pipes shall be inspected before erection to ensure that they are free from loose contamination.
6. Place pipes in position if required using lifting hoists/ straps and chain blocks.
